About Our Mission
Light Your Candle is a nonprofit organization with a heartfelt mission to bring hope to those facing tough medical challenges. For 16 years, we’ve provided comfort, encouragment and community through decorated TinyTrees, serving countless families.
Bringing Light, Hope, and Joy
Light Your Candle began with our own pediatric cancer journey and has grown into a community movement of hope. Each year, we share decorated TinyTrees with patients at Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital, foster children, isolated seniors and beyond—reaching more than 1,500 children, families, seniors, and foster care groups in 2024 alone. These trees are provided by individuals, businesses, churches, schools and more who purchase the tree then decorate it in a kid-friendly theme to donate to our group for us to collect on a single centralized Drop Off Date, then work with our partners to distribute.
Through our Adopt-a-Family partnership and the Pediatric Oncology Family Fund, we also provide vital financial and emotional support for pediatric families facing long or difficult medical treatments.
To better serve and expand our opportunities, we are now a 501(c)(3) organization – and are recognized for federal tax exemption for any donation you make with us.
✨ For 2025, we collected over 1400 TinyTrees—helping us spread encouragement even further. Together, we can make sure none of these families feels alone in their walk. Be a Light!
2026 DROP OFF
With our growth has come a number of logistic challenges, and the need to make a few changes this year. We will announce our 2026 Drop Off Date and Information by the 1st of September. Check our Facebook page for all the latest info and updates (TINYTREES).
TinyTrees
Delivering beautifully decorated 3-foot Christmas trees to hospitals, nursing homes, and foster children, bringing Christmas cheer, hope and encouragement to struggling families. Trees are donated from our East Tennessee Community – individuals, businesses, sports teams, church groups, youth groups and more!
Community Events
Hosting events that foster community engagement while providing essential financial support and raise funds to assist Pediatric Cancer families in our local area during their medical trauma struggles.
Volunteer Opportunities
Engage with us by volunteering your time and talents, helping to paint smiles on the faces of children and seniors experiencing hardship.
